Dependency

If you or someone you know is experiencing dependency issues, we can help. In these cases, there are allegations that children are victims of abuse, abandonment, or neglect.

Dependency cases are mostly begun by the local contracting agency for the Florida Department of Children and Families and will include an investigation into the allegations involving the children. Situations where immediate danger is suspected may lead to the filing of a Shelter Petition which could cause a child or children being placed in the care of another relative or the foster system.

Ultimately, it is up to the Court to decide if a Petition for Dependency is founded and what steps need to be taken. These steps could include a Court mandated Case Plan in which a parent is to perform certain tasks to show that they have the ability to properly care for their child or children, to placing the children in the care of a guardian or even the termination of parental rights.

While the specifics of each case differ, our experienced Family Law Attorneys can assist you in navigating dependency concerns with the Court. We are committed to achieving a positive outcome for our Clients and always seek what is in the best interest of the child or children involved.
